Supply Chain Court Of Experts

In June 2001, Joe Aherne, chairperson of the Leading Edge Group, launched a major new initiative, the formation of the Supply Chain Court of Experts, comprised of the leading supply chain professionals in industry. Mr Aherne explained the move “ I have been directly involved in Supply Chain Management since the early 1980’s. Supply Chain was simply not being taken seriously enough. Our objective was to redress the balance and we are now happy that the supply chain profession is recognized as having a pivotal role to play in most organizations”

The Supply Chain Court of Experts is continuing to shape the future of the Supply Chain Profession through the development, maintenance & communication of excellence in all our Supply Chain Management Practices, Standards, Education & Research.

Message from the President of the Supply Chain Court of Experts

Dermot Lindsay is the Director of Supply Chain Management with Benchmark Electronics and has worked globally in all levels of Materials, Procurement, Manufacturing, Planning and Logistics. He has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Open University.

“As a member of the original founding committee and as President of the Supply Chain Court of Experts, it is essential that we continue to make a difference going forward & act as a catalyst for change through our networking workshops and benchmark studies. Key goals that we will address for the coming period will include:

	Extending membership of the Supply Chain COE to incorporate all Sectors.
	Extending the current offering to members including an On-Line Newsletter, Publications, Articles, Standards & Best Practices. etc.
	Improving opportunities for networking amongst its members
	Forging closer relationships with Global Academic Institutions and Global Supply Chain Institutions
	Forging closer relationships with Government Institutions
	Selecting a key area to engage with & on behalf of the council that will contribute significantly to the development & growth of our council.
	Working in partnership with the Operations Court of Experts.
