Operations
Court of Experts
Due
to the positive response of the Supply Chain Court of Experts,
Joe Aherne along with key practitioners from industry, was
prompted to launch a sister organization, the Operations
Court of Experts (OCE) in 2003. The establishment of the
OCE reflects the fact that manufacturing companies are under
considerable pressure due to a variety of well-documented
reasons.

“Irish Manufacturing Companies are under considerable
pressure at present, due to a variety of reasons, all well
documented by the industry, politicians and press alike.
The long running competitiveness of those companies is,
we believe, heavily dependent upon the effectiveness and
efficiency of Operations Management structures within them.
OCE’s
mission is to shape the future of Operations Management
through the development, maintenance and communication of
excellence in Leadership Behaviors, Best practices, Standards,
Educations and Research.
We hope to fulfill that mission by further fostering the
considerable professionalism shown by Irish Operations Managers;
promoting Best Practice by open dialogue, intercom any benchmarking
and mentorship support between members. We hope also to
develop linkages to Academic Institutions and other Industry
bodies to further provide mutually supportive educational
and benchmarking programmes.
During
2005 we hope to establish a strong membership base, establish
connections with other industry bodies and further develop
the linkages with the Academic bodies. The OCE website will
be established in the near future allowing continuous access
to the collaborative data that will be generated by the
work of the members of the Court. The further development
of Mentoring support between members will we believe bring
enormous mutual benefit to the membership”
