Professor Peter Hines, Lean Enterprise Research Centre, Cardiff University

Professor Peter Hines is the Chairman and Professor of Supply Chain Management at Lean Enterprise Research Centre, Cardiff University as well as one of the Directors of the Innovative Manufacturing Research Centre in the wider Cardiff University. His work on extending the boundaries of Lean thinking has received widespread international attention. He has written over 30 books, booklets or research papers.

A Shingo Prize winner for the recent Staying Lean book, Professor Hines would consider himself to be an expert in the development of Strategy and Operational Improvement using a Lean approach both inside a company and a wider Supply Chain.  In addition his recent work eg Shingo Prize winner ‘Staying Lean - Thriving Not Just Surviving’,  has focused on how to sustain this change.
